Jacob Williams's initial audition consisted of joking about performing to a sold-out crowd in a movie theatre, his dad disappearing emotionally from his childhood, having an imaginary girlfriend, and how he uses Twitter. Howard Stern, Sharon Osbourne, and Howie Mandel all voted "Yes," sending him to the Vegas Round.

Jacob Williams was one of the Judges' Favorites in the Vegas Round. He was sorted into the "Comedians" category. His performance consisted of joking about touching a woman's fingers being too big of a moment, losing his keys, glasses, and even his job, and working right below the least amount not to get fired from his job. His audition was strong enough for the judges to send him to the Quarterfinals along with Tom Cotter.

Jacob Williams's Quarterfinals performance consisted of joking about wanting money from his mother, blaming his eating of ice cream on an imaginary cat, throwing up in baby's mouths, and eating at restaurants alone. He received enough votes to be sent to the Semifinals instead of Cristin Sandu and Rock Star Juggler Mike Price.

Jacob Williams's Semifinals performance consisted of joking about his awkwardness in situations such as shopping at Victoria's Secret, buying cheese at Subway, and going into a women's bathroom by accident. He did not receive enough votes to place in the Final 4 of that night, eliminating him from the competition along with Sebastien "El Charro de Oro", instead of David Garibaldi and His CMYK's.
